Subject: Re: forcing directX

What happens if I try and force
directX and the person who is
looking at the model doens't
have direcX installed?

I think I could force it, then
if that doesn't work I can
detect if they are using
openGL, and if they are, I can
hide the part with the
transparent texture and replace
it with the same piece that has
not texture on it and make that
semi-transparent.

Would this work, or would it
lock if I try and force directX
on a computer that doesn't have
it installed?

If I try and force directX, can
I still poll the engine and see
if it's still running openGL?

Pat
