Hi Kelly,
Cortona VRML client 4.1 has new hardware
renderers that provide higher
performance and quality on up-to-date
video cards. Now most of rendering
procedures are performed with DirectX or
OpenGL functions. But this imposes
additional requirements on video cards
and drivers to them. For example, if you
choose the DirectX renderer and the
Concorde DX7 renderer version in Cortona
4.1 you get acceptable scene view only
if your video card fully supports
DirectX 7. If your video card does not
support DirectX 7 properly, you need to
set earlier renderer version.
Note that scenes with many objects and
textures require more video memory for
viewing. If 3D scenes cannot be
displayed with hardware acceleration, a
warning message appears, and the
software renderer is switched on.
Try to install the last drivers on your
video card for getting best performance
in 3D scenes.
By the way, manual setup of Cortona 4.1
installs the DirectX renderer by default.
Regards,
Mikhail
