the radius field of the sphere node is not exposed, you can't say it IS an exposedfield, its just not VRML. if browsers allow it, they shouldn't, its confusing and non-standard, and allowing this kind of thing will make for big problems later on.
BTW none of the built-in types have exposed fields, which i think is meant to make you use transform for modifying them dynamically, in this way they are interchangeable with IFS, which has a lot of merit.

Thanks for that. Looking at the documentation a bit closer, I see that you are right and using the scale field on the Transform achieves the desired result but I must say, it seems a bit arbitrary. It seems like a perfectly reasonable thing to want to do.
