Midi clip test

Hi there,
Do you have any idea why this clip might not sound on my machine:
http://tunesmithy.netfirms.com/tunes/dekany/test_one_note.wrl
It should play a single note looped.
I actually want to make musical geometry models as in:
http://tunesmithy.netfirms.com/tunes/dekany/dekany3_1_3_5_7_9.wrl
- whenever you click on a face or sphere a note should sound.
This used to work very well in Cortona before but since a recent re-install of the Cortona VRML client it no longer does. When I click on the various geometrical shapes in that model here, nothing happens, no sound at all.
It's particularly noticeable with single note or single chord clips, however other scenes with midi clips in them often miss the first note in the clip, and often miss out many of the later notes too.
Tried uninstalling and re-installing and it still doesn't work. Also tried uninstalling the Cortona client and going back to a much older version of the installer which I happen to have on my machine and it still doesn't work.
Midi clips and midi work is fine in all other ways I use them on my machine, which is used a great deal for various musical things.
I don't know for sure that it is the install that caused it - may well be something else as it was a while after that when I noticed it.
Right now I can't think what else to try
and have spent a while on it - any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Robert
