Subject: AutoRefresh, Freeze and Assign
Sender: HDohlmann 13.04.07 08:34

Hi,

We are trying to gain some performance speedup by setting AutoRefresh(false) and calling Freeze(true) before constructing the vrml.

However, when we assign new values to rotation and other MF-type fields, these are not updated visually when we enable rendering again by setting AutoRefresh(true) and Freeze(false).

We use assign with a temporarily created object, as suggested in: "Advanced Task 3. Improving performance of operations with the scene".

Reading back the values after setting them shows the correct values, but the visual is still wrong!

If we do not call Freeze(true), but just AutoRefresh(false), most of the assignments go well, but some of them are still wrong.

Any ideas?

A more detailed explanation of what consequences is of the following would probably help us a lot:
* AutoRefresh
* Refresh
* ValidateNodes
* Validate
* Freeze

/Henrik
